Buy an LCD now. You wont regret it. I got a 42 inch 1080P vizio for less than 1k at Walmart. Plus they gave me a full 3 year warranty with in-home servicing for $60. Its badass.

all I'd recommend is shop online extensively for tvs to get a feel for what kind of tv goes for how much, and figure out what you really want. read up on all the specs and what they mean, and basically wait till you find a sick deal before you make the jump
