basically their shrimp (or prawn) flavoured chip-like snacks.

they look either like hard french fries, or colourful/white coloured puffy chips.

The chips you can buy in unmade packs where you can fry them yourself, and they expand like crazy once hitting the oil.

Often times you will see these prawn crackers (the chips version) as decoration or garnish to various chinese dishes (sometimes served with peking duck).

Oh ya, they also come in different flavours also.
