I was introduced to the LHC project about a decade ago and was highly excited as I was expanding my knowledge of quantum physics. We have learned a lot since those times, for example string theory was been filled out quite a bit. I'm interested in the validation some of these tests may provide, and hope that it may provide some new insights.
I also hope that these high velocity/energy collisions don't start a reaction that cant be stopped, but some people had the same concerns about the atomic bomb so I'm not losing any sleep over it.
