I've noticed a few people with crazy luck, then I look back at myself.

--My first job out of college.... they go out of business.
--My second job out of college...flips books... pulls an enron like stock drive... govt ends up bailing them out... I quit..
--3rd job I get fired from. New supervisor comes in and give me the axe to get their own "gal" in their.
--4th job cuts 33% of their staff on 1 year aniversary, I'm let go on Christmas eve.
--5th job cuts almost 1/2 of their staff a little after 1 year aniversary.

5 jobs in 7 years. 4 of 5 I get laid off or get the axe. My car has been hit 6 times in the past 3 years in parking lots. Windshield broken 2 times in past 3.

Start thinking about why I stopped going to casinos (cept for poker tournies)

Never hit anything more then 30 credits on a slot machine. I threw away over 1000 dollars before I realized how lame it is to put quarter(s) in a box and never get anything in return.

At blackjack. Play the odds. Double and split when I'm supposed to. Use a card counting system. Odds should be even or slightly in my favor when I get into the shoe.... but still lose 90% of the time. Friends didn't play the odds as well as I, but still win much more often.

I'm not looking for pity. Anyone else have horrible luck across the board like this? Or is it just me.

imo if you lose at black jack or slots your pretty unlucky

But I understand what you mean. Sometimes I just feel very very unlucky. Most of the time though its because I am not recognizing the times I get lucky because all of the bad luck times always stand out more.

Your probably joking, It's not all that funny because I had surgery to remove Melanoma. Basically skin cancer. I do consider myself somewhat lucky in the regard that I noticed it in time and it did not spread to lymph nodes or anywhere else for that matter. I am at a higher risk since I already had cancer, so yes. I suppose I may well get it again. It's also not a good idea to be messing with Karma like that.

That's not crazy at all. Second person to post with uncanny insight. I was in intensive care 4-6 times, all but 1 before the age of 8. I've never talked to anyone about this before except my father. The dumbass tries to guilt me every once in a while for what I put THEM through. Hello... I'm the one that was lying in intensive care. But that is neither here nor there.

Anywho.........it all depends on the point of view. Few people end up in intensive care that many times in a short period... But I didn't die, so I suppose I'm very lucky that I survived those 4-6 brushes with death. I know you had no idea either when you posted, but I probably am lucky to be alive...
