That's what I figured you meant after I posted. Go with LCD

I got a massive hard on first time I hooked my xbox360 up to my Samsung. Still do, actually.

for LCD TV's.. a couple things u should note:

1. The higher the contrast ratio the better. Contrast ratio determines how clear the tv looks and how crisp the images look.

2. The larger the resolution it runs at, the better (just in case u ever wanna hook it up to your computer to multi-table hehe).

3. The quicker the response time, the better. This is for whenever u wanna hook it up to play games etc. (the quicker the response time, will lessen the effect of "tearing" in games). Tearing is something u experience when lets say your playing a FPS and your looking around and moving your mouse side to side a lot. If your LCD has a slower response time then what happens is when u move your mouse back and forth you can see the images getting split apart.

thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

also.. try to stick to a name brand.

some name brands that i can think of off the top of my head:

Samsung, Toshiba, LG, Viewsonic, Panasonic

also one thing I definately recommend you do is go to newegg.com (its the leading online electronics store in the US), and look for the model that your planning to buy and read the comments/testimonials/ratings that people have given them and compare it to other products that are within your budget.

not to be a nit, but I'd say the resolution determines how "crisp" an image looks. Contrast more refers to how well the tv differs in color ranging from white to black. Some tv's with a poor contrast ratio, for instance, wouldn't show the difference between a pitch black color and a dark gray color. It'd look washed out.

Go with Samsung. I sell all brands of television and, for LCD, go with Samsung. They have the best black levels on the market. Even if their contrast ratio isn't listed at the highest, it looks the highest.

I know that "TVs" doesn't have an apostrophe in.
