Martingale doesn't work mainly because of the roll needed and as someone pointed out the max bet rule. Although at the old horseshoe you could do it.

also remember, you are only winning your original bet. the system is designed to start out low, so you may end up risking millions to win a $1 bet!?!?!?!?!?!!?

if you start with a $1 bet and it comes up black 20 times in a row your next bet would have to be $1,048,576 to win your $1 back, yeah good system
also many casino have a max bet which kills that system right there

This is obvious... they try to rip clients off... in poker it's something else, they play against each other, they don't give a damn..

I have a friend who use to use this same system with Blackjack. He made it work fairly well overall but sometimes it would clean him out something awful. The problem with this is that you could do it but you would have to play with like 100k for a very very long time earning like $1 at a time. This doesnt actually equal out to very much money per hour so its unlikely that someone would go for it. The worst case scenario of course is hitting the other color too many times and going bust.

I also heard that European casinos only have 1 green 0 on their roulette tables whereas American casinos have two essentially doubling the edge that the house has.

Yeah, and one of my buddies said he made money at BJ by playing the entire table, but never hitting when in danger of busting. He reasoned that while he lost many of those 12/13 hands, all of his bets won whenever the dealer busted...

Mathmatically, this doesn't work. But feel free to try it for yourself

only way to beat the house is to bet it all on one hand and hope you get lucky.

I had this stratagy work for a while in baccarat. I had been trying to figure out different shortrun winning stratagies for various casino games(meaning they will win for a while, then inevitably lose). I had heard of doing progressions in blackjack, but thought that was an aweful idea what with the house edge of a few percent in that game. Then I decided to try it in baccarat since the edge in that game is very small. A friend and I each put $100 into an account, and within a two week period our $200 turned into $1800. Needless to say, I knew if we kept trying we'd get screwed over and lose it, so we cashed out and ran with it. Worked out quite well in the short run, but you couldn't have it work forever, the odds will eventually catch you

Red/Black in roulette is 1:1.x odds.

What your talking about is the Martingale system. Proven not to work unless you have an infinite bankroll.

Straight up without bonuses, 99% of the games have a house advantage or a -EV
