he was always playing poker. when i played my 1st home game with him, i dunno it was weird, he was always just so focused. then he made like 20k over the summer and that was it thats what i wanted to be. so i started learning a bit from him and stuff.
finally, he calls me up and is like hey wanna go play at windsor? im like ok. so i drive over to his dorm and hes like oh i forgot ive got some stuff to take care of today, we have to go to admissions. we meet his dad there and im like wtf? hes like "oh yeah, im dropping out of college" i thought this was really really funny because everyone in the office was like "OMG" (you can read about this day in his blog somewhere) so his dad is like ok we have to sign these papers and the lady is like "why are you dropping out" and his dad is like "tell her. tell her why" and he proudly replies "ive made 6 figures playing poker online" at this point we burst out laughing and walk out of the office.
in the car ride to windsor was the most amazing experience ever. basically, 2 straight hours of talking about poker. it was that day i learned that he wasnt just a good player, or lucky, he was completely the real deal. and that day (about a year ago) is when i really started trying to improve my game.
and here we are now. hes making a living and im learning...
