This is how the bet came about:

We were drunk at the frat house and he said that I couldn't handle playing online anymore because I don't have a woman to cuddle if I'm runnin' badly or just playin' bad. He was sayin' that Amy was my escape from the addictive online poker.

I said that I still kept an online roll to play a limited amount of hours at the same .5/1 NL 10 handed UB games where I can get more sleep, get more work done (my GPA has slipped 0.4 since I started playing online because it' easier to physically pick up chips and walk away than "log-off" and go to bed), bowl more, and just plain ol' "get shit done."

He said that I play scared and play below my bankroll and only win because I'm playing bad players while he's grinding the mid-high limit tables. Push came to shove and words came to words and here we were making a stupid bet.

How did I get to this? Oh yeah. Beav, basically, I'm done with online poker. There are bigger games that are easier to beat in my own backyard in less hours. I'm not "done" done. I love playing at home in my underwear. But I'm done treating online poker as a job where I think about earnings and what not. It's borderline recreational. (Hell, I didn't even notice that you were at my table for an hour.) My friend is a HARDCORE online player that believed that if you can't play online, you can't play. I don't agree and I wouldn't argue the contrary.

That would be stupid unless the best were for at least $25K. There's NO guarantee in poker on any bet without the UNDENIABLE nuts. The profits are measured in the long term. I could lose this bet- I could win this bet. Either way, nothing is proven. It's not a "thrusted chest" bet. It's a prop bet. I was about to withdraw all but $1K from FirePay to save for eventful tournies until this bet came along.

As I reviewed my early post on this bet, I realize that I did forget to mention the biggest asset of winning this bet.

The winner is "Recruit Master" for the DePaul Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter for 2005-06. We were the two candidates and the late November election was a draw.
