Covering the life of Johnny Cash (and much of the life of June Carter) Walk the Line is one of the best films I have seen recently.

The movie briefly covers JR's (as he was called most of his early life) childhood and some event that shape his family before jumping into this time in the Air Force. From there the story progresses in a fairly linear and coherent fashion as Johnny begins his musical career.

Joaquin Phoenix does a fantastic job singing and a pretty damn good job acting. Reese Witherspoon is EXCELLENT in both her singing and acting. This is a film from start to finish with great music. It's only weak point(s) - if there are any would be the depiction of Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis (mostly the dork that plays Elvis).

I am going to give this AA.

I agree w/ you. I know may cash songs, but never was like "oh man he is awsome, glad this movie is coming out".

watched it and I considered it one of the best of the year. in terms of accuracy i can'c comment b/c i dont know anything. Phnx = sick. should have won best actor (I saw copte, so i can comment accurately).

I got this movie from netflix just after it came out, it has been sitting in the DVD player for 2 weeks now... gotta go watchit soon.

I liked it a lot, but wasn't blown away. I compare it to 'Ray': A biopic on a legendary artist that I knew very little about. Ray was much better IMO. Other than the Folsom scene, the song performances were meh.

good question, it is based on how the money made feel, how it held my interest, how likely I would be to play it again.

I really have no idea what a "great movie" would be.

AA doesnt mean it is the best movie ever made - that would be like "Royal Flush" or something.

I feel like movies compare better to preflop hands. You may play it one time and go to the ending quite happy, you may play it again and muck it at the credits or shortly after.

Unlike KK or AKs, I don't think that anyone that thinks this movie is worth playing iwill be mucking it at any time - and it will stand up as a winner at the river 80+% of the time.
