Default So I got a new PC...

And it didnt work when I hooked it up.

I believe it is a bad motherboard. Anyway I have free onsite service for 1 year so they are sending a tech out early next week.

These are the stats:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Seagate 300GB SATA-2 Harddrive with 16mb Cache
CM Aquagate Mini 80MM Liquid Cooling system
GEIL 1024 MB PC3200 RAM
16X Black DVD-ROM (Not sure what brand though)
Free wireless card which I wont use
Dual NVidia EVGA 7800GT 256MB PCI-E graphics cards in SLI mode (thats right 2!)

So other than the fact that it isnt working, I am very excited. I had it built by IBUYPOWER.COM because it seemed like a really good price. I tried to price my own out, and kept coming out a bit higher than this, plus it didnt have the free 1 year warranty obviously. I am feeling lazy lately anyway, and decided that I didnt want to build my own PC this time. It had been a while since I had spent a bunch on a new PC that I had built for me, so I decided to go for it. What do you guys think??

Oh yeah, and it ran me $1515. Plus when I get it running I will post that graphics stats.

You're going to be bottlenecked by the CPU in a lot of games. I'd rather go with a single 7900GT or GTXt than the SLI. I'd pick up a second gig instead of the other vid card too.

That really sucks that the Mobo didn't work.

I'm running pretty much the same thing, but a 4000+ AMD 64with 2 RAID'd HD,s and a 21" LCD... BLAZING fast machines..... That and a 9Mbps broadband connection makes life on the PC a wonder....

Not sure why I would be bottlenecked because of the CPU. Name a game that I will run into that problem.

And yeah, it was a toss up for the two 7800GTs or one 7900GTX. I am happy with my choice though. Honestly I would be surpised if there are that many differences. I read some stuff online, and the 7900 GTX are SOOO expensive.

I already have another gig of RAM to put in..

Hey the liquid cooling system was tossed in for free, and its quieter than a raging fan.

Cool

It is not the size and all the gizmos in the computer, it is how you use it.

I think he is talking about the memory bus speed.

What I'm saying is that the CPU will be the limiting factor by far. It would be even if you had a single 7800. It's not that it wont run well, but the 2nd GPU isn't going to help at all. How high do you plant to OC this to?
