Ouch. I hate having the best hand and the not best one wins.

    Happens all the time though.

Trust me its not just because its internet poker, this crap happens all the time in live poker, THE CALL DEPENDS ON THE PLAYER... average stack etc...
I get bad beats a lot a live poker, and i give out bad beats.

    flop JJ8
    turn7
    river J

    Exclamation

Just come off playing a cash game.
Playing at 0.05 and 0.10 limits, NL Holdem 9 max table.
Decided not to play the blind straight away, so I wait for it to come round to me again.
8 at the table and one guy sitting out.
Anyway, I get dealt Ace King off in the big blind and what starts to happed, everyone at the table starts folding.
Gets to the small blind, a guy who I've seen at the tables quite a few time, and he has about $2 profit. I've noticed this guy is fairly tight about players he know nothing about, but with me, he plays a more aggressive loose style, since he deems me a maniac.
Admittedly |I play suited connectors aggressive and have made a number of hero calls that lesser players deem donkish, but I play solid poker, if not a bit wild at times.
Anyway, he likes to steal my blinds and show off how good he is and this time is no different, except he open shoves.
I have been playing a while on another table and this is the best hand I've seen so far and insta call for my stack, knowing he'll likley do this with any smallish pair, most high kings, and a lot of medium aces.
Overall I feel I'm way ahead of his range, and in certain spots I'm a large favourite.
He proceeds to turn over two aces and the rest as we say is history.

Not once am I complaining about the way he played the hand, as he may feel I'll call with a larger range of hands than most people and I could hit two pair on the board and take his stack as I play better on the flop than he does. My main beef here is that I had just a good enough hand to call here, and just a bad enough hand to have near no outs going in to the flop.

I know some people would say, if you think you've got an edge over this guy, why call, and not wait to pick your spots. Two reasons I didn't just open fold:
    > If I do and he shows me King Queen, I feel stupid for laying the hand down,
    > Secondly, this guy is more than likely to rebuy and take shots at getting his money back at pots where I'm involved. He likes to make it personal, and as a result, I can extract more money, with less effort than usual.
Not saying my play was brilliant (as the result shows), but I feel a little disheartened that this turn of events occured seeing as I'd been playing so well for the past 3 months without any terrible incidents like this occuring, (mainly due to paranoia and great reading on my part.)

You got beaten by a fish. Don't let it get to you. Relax and blame it all on variance.

This is the kind of thing that makes you wonder about internet gaming. Those supposed random card deal generators. How well do they work? Which sites are holding superusers as UB was or is right now?
