OK, I know this has been mentioned before, but now its getting really annoying. The unread threads expire to quickly, like last night, I get home, and have 3 days of PFO to check (a rarity for me). By the time I had gotten halfway through the first forum, all the new threads I hadn't read yet were expired and its a real pain to figure out where to start.
The threads should be left marked Unread until the user does something with them, not an hour or 90 minutes or whatever. Theres a "mark forum read" button for a reason. Now If you change the time limit to like 24 hours or something, then thatd work to, itd allow me to check PFO between calls at work and not miss anything. Thatd probably be a lot easier to code too.

I can change this, I just found out, but the problem is that it will affect the 'Who's Online' feature, as they are both fed from the cookie data. Right now, a user's cookie expires every 15 minutes, before having the posts marked as read.

Ugggg thats horrible. Need to make seperate cookies, a 10 minute one for "whos online" and a 24 hour (or perhaps user defined? default at 1 hour???) cookie for thread age.

Yes I agree, especially when I come home after work and there are 200+ posts to read through. I would try to read a few in the morning, but then I have no idea of which ones I had previously read when I get home.
Is the "Who's Online" feature really that important?Long Haired Freaky People Need not Apply
