    Default Looking Suggestions

    Hi Everyone,

I'm looking some suggestions for bringing this forum back to its glory days. you should start to notice a few changes over the coming months, with some big promos for members. But first I need to get the forum lifted a little and a little more active.

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Thumbs up I'm on Board!

    Hi G9OLT:

Been trying to bring some life to this forum as well! See my post "LUKERS" Feel free to bump it back to the top.

I have kind of adopted this site as my home forum as I am banned form 2p2, a whole story unto itself,(not for spam!) and this forum still has a pulse. I've looked at so many poker forums that are DEAD!

Like your site PNB. I look at and notice poker sites. Yours I've noticed seems up to date and comprehensive. You've done a great job on it!

As I'm sure you've noticed almost everyone that post here is promoting their poker site, and I include myself there. Most make little attempt to make quality post but are shameless spam whores! And most of those that do make decent post have giant obnoxious signatures that make the post look like spam anyway! As things pick up here I would guess that the admin here will tighten up on the self promotion a bit.

If the spam whores would just make 5 or 6 decent post for every self promoting post that would be a start.

I'm on board with you and willing to help. Feel free to PM or email me.

    Thanks Mate

Over the next few months there will be some big changes. Which you will see happening soon. Hopefully with some changes and an inflow of comps and cash this forum will go back to its former glory.

I did not even notice the owner tag above your avatar! How long have you owned this site?

    Hi G9OLT

I have a couple of suggestions that I hope you find useful as well as just general observations.

I think a lot of beginners ask for advice on play and where to play on here as well as on hand histories and there have been some good responses.

This site has been very good for begginers because it generally has a very helpful and constructive criticism based atmosphere. I think flaming is minimal here and that is a VERY good attribute of the site if you see a post that has anything flamy or unhelpful in it I would just come down hard on it.

For example people might show attitude to go with their opinions like 'I'm the greatest holdem player that ever lived and everyone else talks nonsense' and I just think this is terrible and scares new posters off.

I think people are more willing to contribute opinions if instead of being flamed they open discussion.

Guys like Knights and George were good for this I hope they still read these posts as they def contributed I also have no doubt that characters like Blue will help in these issues as they play regularly.

I think it might be a good idea to open up a thread on things newer players might like. There is a section on here for newbies but I don't know if it could be added to or somehow expanded to have subjects like newbie hand history or how would you have played etc plus also ideas about what people like about certain sites to play on and why.

Also articles about bankroll management and building a bankroll from scratch are good and maybe have seperate sections for SNG MTT tournaments and cash games.

Articles on Holdem manager and how to use stats couldn't hurt.

Previous spam should be removed even though it was posted a while ago there is some great content on here and spam dilutes it and makes it less obvious. Spammers have tried to change this site into a clothes sales forum.

Best of luck with it look forward to seeing the changes.

2p2 has killed tons of forums. P5s imo has lost tons of traffic as well.

What we had back here in 04 were about 15-20 dedicated posters, who posted aroud 4-5+ posts a day, then we had others who would post a couple times a day. I bet those posters felt a sense of camaraderie. we only had about 50 active posters and then some, but tons of content was there every day. every 3mins htere was a new post.

In order to bring this place back to life we simply need "active posters" that's tough to come by.

I feel that the only way is to spam in advertisements which means shelling out CA$$$HH. and even then its a gamble.

I guess you could mass email members again, as well as advertise and implement some stuff that would attract new players who are willing to post.

its going to be a long slow process and a challenging one at that

Seems like there is a place here for a live and/or home game thread. Looking at the post here there are a few concerning live games and situations that are spread about the forums and blogs.
