First, the harsh truth.....PFO is dead. More dead than it ever has been. Not just dead quiet. Stone dead. No sign of life at all.
Now the light at the end of the tunnel bit (if you're interested.....if you're not, stop reading this post, turn the lights out, pull the plug and close the door after you).
It is possible to build the site up again. It will be starting from scratch unlike previously when it started with a solid nucleus of posters and players. All this means is that its only uphill the site can go instead of downhill like it has for the last number of years, coincidentally the poker boom years. That bit must be kinda depressing imo.
If you want some suggestions on how to attempt to bring PFO back from the doldrums, get in touch with me. This isnt one of those, what you seem to always have portrayed as, taking the piss and laughing at how the site has gone downhill. If you take it as that, theres not much I can do. If you can put your failures aside and accept the harsh reality of the situation, things can happen. Yes, this is a serious post.
With serious posts, comes serious responsibilities.
Are you willing to step up to the plate and take on those responsibilities? If you are, you have my contact details.![]()

Yep, I'm sure you have EXACTLY what it takes to resurrect PFO Dee.
Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R
KRE8R probably has about seventy college funds in his NL5 roll.

Hey, at least he is trying.
How about setting up tiny freerolls for whoever signs up and makes 5 posts in a week? Even if it's a 5 dollar freeroll once or twice a month, it will drive traffic.
Call it "PFO's 5 for 5" or something stupid like that. The only issue is how to keep the password private enough...Well over $300,000 free every month in 2011 with freerolls, rake races, and rake chases!
www.RakeGuard.com has the highest rakeback percentages available.
RakeGuard...more than just rakeback.

You do need to give users a reason to get involved, like the forum on my site only has a very small number of users but most of them are active as the site is giving something to the users instead of being just one huge advertising board.
If the forum members honestly feel that you care more about them than selling the next ad space (even if that's not true) then you'll see a huge improvement.
Maybe give the site a facelife too and freshen it up? at the moment it looks really busy with things flashing all over the place but no real substance.
I noticed that the forum is also up for sale for $100,000 which seems like an emotional price tag for something that you originally put a lot of time and effort into but have since let go prehaps?
Think of something that will make this forum better than the rest or atleast unique in some way because there is nothing here that you can't find in every other, busier poker forum.
I like the 5 for 5 idea, maybe a news letter with spot prizes in it for the best forum reply's? most interesting posts, etc?
maybe pay one or two popular players and posters to get involved in this site? posting strategy artcles in teh forums or making videos? Pay for some pros's to make some vids with discussion links in the forums perhaps?
Lot of things you could do if you wanted to.
Maybe offer a stake in the sites profits to video makers, popular players etc. As long as you're producing regular videos for x amount of contractual time you can take say 20% of the net profits (just an idea if money isn't readily available)?
Good luck

I was taking my time in seeing if your brainwave of an idea worked out first. Apparently doing nothing wont work. Neither does sticking ur head up someones ass. No harm in trying something new imo.
Tough love is a still love.
This changes everything. Obviously Kid has given up on the site that he once said he would never sell. If nothing else, somebody competent may come in and buy it. I may as well just save my world changing ideas for the new guy.For the best rakeback rates, greatest choice of poker rooms, more promotions, tournaments and bigger $$$ freerolls than any other rakeback affiliate, visit RakeTheRake, one of the largest and most reputable poker rakeback affiliates in the world.

I apologize everyone. I've been busy.
Well, busy is an understatement. It's currently 2:07AM as I write this and I have 197 new, unread e-mails in my inbox, most of them work related.
Lately I find there to be less and less hours in the day. Without hyperbole I honestly feel like I work, eat, sleep, and then the day is over only I'm even more behind work than when I started.
The main reason I put PFO up for sale was because I have absolutely no time to put towards it, and it obviously needs time and attention.
If you guys are serious about wanting to see it back to how it was in its better times, please share your ideas. Please note that spending money is largely out of the question. I've had a really bad past 18 months business-wise and actually spent over $100K last year in expenses so I really can't be spending money at the moment.
I can assure you that I really want PFO to be more active again. In fact, it's my #1 goal for 2010 and on the whiteboard in my office for the 2010 work goals I made for myself at the start of the year:

It's just a matter of being too busy. That's why I tired to hire an administrator a couple months back (Dylan), but that unfortunately didn't work as he just didn't have the poker background to really handle the duties of being an administrator.
If you guys could help in any way, that would do a lot. I simply don't have time to write newsletters and hold tournaments, etc. anymore unfortunately.
