Default PFO Improvement Suggestions

Now's the time to take advantage of my return to poker, as I'm ready and eager to improve PFO.

Please share any comments/suggestions you have for the site, or things you'd like implemented/removed/etc. While I may not entertain them all, I'll certainly read and consider them all.

I personally have a few ideas in mind, but aren't that sure about them yet. Let me know what you think of my own suggestions as well:

1. Have ad creative made. Right now the only banners we have for the site are two 468x60's which can be viewed at the bottom of this page. And they are ancient. It'd would be nice if we had a wide selection of the most common banner sizes available, with some nice sexy banners (I have a good contact) for other sites wishing to link to us, or for my own advertising campaigns.

2. Improve the "Site Reviews" area so that:
  • New field to mention US Players Allowed
  • There should be an Image management system (admin thing)
  • Add basic search feature, to search by certain scores, details
  • Add new Score listing called Promotions, count each 3 at 30%, and customer support at 10%
3. Finish developing Replayer.org and create a vBulletin hack/integration so that you can post hands within posts with the actual Replayer tool. (Click on http://www.replayer.org/beta2/input.php then "Example #1" for an example)

4. Create some built-in and easily accessible poker tools into the site such as a hand odds calculator

5. Improve the probabilities page so that it's displayed much nicer and covers more probabilities.

6. Purcahse and install vBSEO. This is a search-engine optimization tool that I'm currently testing on two of my other forums, but they haven't shown any results yet...

7. Add a "Feedback" feature to accounts where upon after any money transaction/trade, a member can leave feedback for the other person. Thus, people will have the number of past transactions, and their past score with each person. This works very similar to the feedback system used on eBay. It would greatly help show who can be trusted when conducting trades, and who can't. [This actually seems like the best new addition the site could use....]

8. Update vB from 3.6.4 to 3.6.8

9. Add two new optional fields to user profile. These will both display (If filled out) to the user's "postbit" (the area where the Avatar, Join Date, Posts, etc. is). I was thinking of: Favourite Starting Hand and Limits Played.

10. Add a new moderator (I'm thinking maybe Epic?)

So.. what do you guys think?

We have too many subforums.

Online Poker stuff can fall under Gen Poker Discussion and "Online Poker Room" stuff can be changed to a Software forum.

Polls are pretty useless as forums have changed over the last couple of years and Sports stuff can go in Gen. Discussion.

That leaves plenty of room to take out Gen Poker Strat and split HA into a Cash Forum and a Tournament Forum. The HH threads'll develop into and spawn more conceptual questions and threads.

nice the alex...I have to agree....shortening it down more to adding more to make it more like a in depth poker forum.....

Couldn't agree more with that.

- I like the idea of feedback ratings for each member.
- I don't have a favourite hand so don't put that in.
- Maybe controversial, but get people talking about poker more , ie. warn and ban those people (they know who they are) who never post anything poker related or longer than one line.

- Make David a Mod
- I like the trade comments idea
- more pfo tournys with (BuyIn) + more members
- Somehow get more members ( that post) forum so small imo
- Get a server that allows members to talk on microphones I would be willing to pay\split a few months ( I use 2 have a ventrilico server for Counterstrike) Members could just discuss poker/hands/ current situations and just bullshit with each other
