There are attacks that "won't be tolerated" like Manguy going apeshit on the whole forum, hijacking every thread, and getting banned. But in General Discussion, if people are going to go at it with each other, they will.

There's a difference between people getting flamed standing idly by and people getting flamed after making bold statements. The bolder the statement, the harsher the reaction and sometimes that's why the bold statements are made. It's the same as those 3 girls posting hot pics of themselves. The hotter the pic, the more people are gonna drool over it. It isn't instigating, but people should understand that extremes face backlash.

Aces-o-8's is an example where he completely misunderstood something I said, reacted in an extreme manner to get an extreme reaction. I didn't ban him. I gave him the extreme reaction and completely pwnd him. It wasn't one-sided bullying from him from or myself, it was a back and forth, not about how I moderate the board, but about a picture I posted to be funny.

there is no way Ping should be penalized for calling someone a ho, or slut, or whatever.

now, if ping said he hates her b/c she is jewish, then he should get warning or something, but caling someone a bad parent is so petty. I mean obv to her it was over the top, but IRL it is not a big deal b/c in reality ping is just some guy that lives thousands of miles away from her.

While joking around is fine and usually funny, personal attacks are not alright. If someone comes on here and makes an offhanded comment like: "I still like sex" that doesn't mean people can go around calling her a slut. Think whatever you will but keep it to yourself.

The beauty of the forum is it's diversity; we welcome democrats, republicans, sharks, fish, men, women, kids, adults, blacks, whites, browns, yellows, blues. you name it. If you disagree with someones lifestyle fine, there's no need to resort to personal insults or name calling. A simple I disagree with your lifestyle will do.

Just because your choices in life differ from others doesn't mean they are open to personal insults, and that comment was very personal.

Do you really want to revive this sorry subject? Someone hijacked a Strategy Thread, the post was deleted and someone else re-hijacked the thread to call him a "shit moderator." Manguy got racist with me because I wouldn't loan him money. Apples and oranges, Dee. Just look at how you're expressing yourself compared to those two examples.

Like I said, a bold statement about your sexlife is going to get a bold response, whether it be correct or not. Posting a cleavage pic is going to get a bold response, no matter how "respectful" it can be interpreted. If the person that the response is directed toward doesn't like it, they should be allowed to address it as it came at them with other responses, but should also be fully aware of potential reactions.

i just wanted to say that i didn't *actually* go anywhere. i've been lurking, hoping that by saying i was leaving and not responding to any of this, people would stop talking. but...that didn't work

i did let certain comments affect me more than they should have. it might have been an overreaction on my part, maybe not. but whatever, it happened, and i'm over it. much love and respect to both the first amendment and the golden rule
