    Default Subscription Idea

An idea I've had roaming around my mind for the last while was to implement a paid-subscription area to PokerForums.

The idea would be to add an existing area to the site where only paid subscribed members could access (read/post). Two such areas would be present: Advanced Players Area, and Expert Players Area. The pricing would be something along the lines of $15/month for the advanced players, and $45/month for the expert players.

The logic behind it is simple. If players can afford to pay 45 dollars a month to have access to the expert area, chances are that they are expert players. Now, some unskilled newbies may still have access to it as well, but they would essentially be wasting their money, as they wouldn't have much to contribute to conversations.

Why pay for these areas? Higher quality reading and posting. If you are a more experienced player, you may want to discuss more about the finer things in poker such as the probabilities, or how you re-analyze your hands after a tournnament. You'd also see a void of threads/postings related to simplistic questions, and more postings created towards your level.

Also note that these areas would be ADDITIONAL areas to the site. Regular non-paying members would still have regular read/post access to the site - they just wouldn't be given access to the more premium areas.

So what do you guys think? It'd be nice if this site could bring in a couple of dollars (as you may notice, not 1 ad is on the site as of yet, even though poker ads pay a ton.)

Please vote, and also note that this area would most likely not be implemented until the site garnered more posting traffic.

I think its an EXCELLENT IDEA but the price is sorta steep. I dont think many people would play the 45/month. A good price i think may be like 10/month for acess to everything. Id join

There. Actually the price is very cheap. The 45/month is meant for basically people who play for a living. These are people who play 2/4+, and thus 45 a month shouldn't hurt them at all!

    Thumbs down subs.

i play 5/10 and 10/20 and $45 still seems really really steep...I mean why not just make a chat room for free or talk on the phone... I guess if people would sign up its good for u but $45 a month... Lets not go crazy that is over $500 a year just to talk to eachother. I mean what would u give us that would want me to spend $500 on here to talk instead of a trip to vegas?!?!

I would never pay too, even if i was making many many $. There aren't too many things to learn and these sections aren't quarrante to you that you will get better. Most players if they have any secrets, they prefer to keep them for themselves. Why to talk about your strategy? It will only reveal your weaknesses.
