Steve-O, and comment on this?

Come on, I know you want to...
Well, in the sense that he used it I guess I can agree somewhat. I do what I think is right and will handle the consequences if they arise. I think this comes from my management background, you can't make everyone happy so you have to do what is logically correct, not do things on emotion. Trying to make everyone happy just makes people hate you more. Sometimes you have to make a decision for the betterment of all that you know will piss off cetain people.

I try to be friendly with everyone on here but as you can tell, I am never too friendly with any of you. If I get too friendly than I cannot moderate the site properly my personal feelings will get in the way. I think this is what happened with Marm, he let his personal feelings get in the way because he was very friendly with some involved.

He, and a few others, also had some preconcieved notion of my personality which is way off. If you ask anyone who knows me they'll tell you I'm the most laid back easy going person they know. All this "steve is the type who has road rage and starts barfights" crap makes me laugh. Ask my girlfriend, I never get mad when I'm cut-off or someone does something stupid and I have been in exactly 1 real fight in my entire life, I'm 1 - 0 boys )

They have done a real good job of smeaing my personality and selling their outlook on me over the last few months. Like I said in the original post, 1 temp ban and it had nothing to do with a disagreement it had to do with 5,000 one word posts, it just came to a boil out of a highly debated thread. Yet they go around saying that I ban anyone who disagrees with me, I don't get it.

Ever since the Bonch banning they have gone out of their way to troll and flame my posts, put derogotary comments about me in their sigs, and nitpick every little decision I made. And they convinced others on here to drink the kool aid.

If I am such a bad guy, ask yourself this, have you personally ever had a problem with me??? And if you have did we straighten it out privately???? I have argued with Trons, Alex, and others heatedly and we worked it out just fine. I ban noone!!!!! i temp banned a member who had at least 5,000 troll/flame posts. It was not from a single incident but a build up over a long period of time.

All that said, If you really eaxamine the threads I was very calm during and after the bans, I didn't respond to any of the personal attack posts made about myself, Beavis's thread and others. I even responded to Marm nicely a few times after he overturned everything the following morning. BTW, look at the what is going on here thread, everything was calm and fine after Alex and I explained, then it flares up when marm came on.

If you look at the timeline I got mad when Marm rebuffed my attempts to talk to him and started posting private conversations. He makes it seem that he posted these after he was threatened, the truth is: he was threatened BECAUSE he posted them.

Anyone who wouldn't get mad at having private conversations posted is lobotomized.

I'll reiterate these main points,

Irexes said he deserved the ban and that it was boiling over from a previous disagreement. Something that I had long let go but apparently he hadn't. I wish he would have, although i disagreed with his moderation style he was a very good poster on the forum. Again Irexes wanted to get banned and wanted to go out with a bang to get his points across about me.

Beavis dislikes me for whatever reason, idealogical differences whatever, and frankly I don't care anymore. One thing I'd like to get straightened out with him, he keeps saying he invited me here but actully Alex contacted me first. Beavis has been a different person since he was rebuffed from being a mod. He took it way to personally and held it against all the staff.

Marm, got caught up in defending his friends and not looking at the facts. He went over the entire staffs head to unban someone who said they deserved the ban! he the broke the entire staffs trust when he posted private conversations. I could post some whoppers from private conversations myself, but like I said I am above that and respect the privacy that those conversations were held in.

Like i said, the forum lives on. They may come back they may not. With 5,000 members and more signing up every day our discussions will be fine.

Something else I'd like to mention.

I harbored no hard feelings towards anyone, in fact I went out of my way to get Marm a free copy of poker academy pro and would have given Beavis one to but he was so flippant in his reply I decided not to. I think I gave one to ypsieast as well. And also to a friend of xxdemexx.

I told Marm I would pay for the ladder prizes (unfortunately the ladder fell through), I have given any money I won in PFO freerolls to people as a bounty, as well as hooking a few people up with buy-ins to PFO tourneys or small amounts to play with.

I have written countless reviews on books, sites, and software as well as contributing some articles to the site to aid anyone looking to make a purchase.

despite all of this I get lambasted for not caring about PFO as a community and for just stroking my ego and other bullshit. The truth is I try to give back to this community as much as I can. I do what i can to try to help the posters here, both advice wise and any freebies I might be able to hook you up with. I do these things because I do care about PFO and it's members.

I'll again throw my .02 cents out there so there's no confusion anywhere. Personally I don't really have a dog in this whole thing myself...however I have learned quite a bit from people who are still here, and those who are not. Personally I haven't really had any problems with anyone here when it comes to 1 on 1. However I'm also interested in learning as much as possible about the game, so I'm neither "for" or "against" anyone here. However I do enjoy insights from people who have butted heads here on boths sides. So I want to be able to still seek advice from people I've had good discussions with in the past. Unfortunately some are here and others are not so I kinda need to divide my attention.

As far as the whole fiasco goes, again I'm not directly involved in it and like the saying goes there's usually 3 sides to every story. Like I've mentioned there's advice from people I appreciate from basicallly everyone who's either directly or indirectly involved and wouldn't want to burn any bridges. So I just wanted to throw out that I'm not taking sides either way...it's basically like having people you get along with, that can't get along with each other.

I'm not back and I'm not staying, but as I keep getting quoted by Steve-O as saying that I deserved the ban as justification for what has happened, can I put it in context before it becomes fact.

I deserved to be banned, for saying something derogatory about steve, but this was because I did not wish to remain silent and therefore condone his behaviour.

Bad things happen when good people stay silent (or something like that).

If you are going to quote me again, please quote all of it.

Thanks

I said exactly what you said, minus the personal insult to me, and even referenced them to your blog, so I wasn't taking anything out of context. If they want to do more research on it i gave them the place to look.
