Alright I have an extra .02 to toss into this....(even though I'm neither a mod or a long time member of the forum I'll

) also.
Seems this whole thing basically formed from a "my dick is bigger than yours contest".....as most fights tend to stem from.
However the whole idea of losing good posters in the forum sucks to be honest. Kid like you said, your site your rules...however there should be some type of line drawn as to what is acceptable and not acceptable IMO. Nothing wrong with slapping the wrist of someone challenging a mod, however there should be a fairly mutual respect between postes and mods. Otherwise you can relate the mentality towards allowing cops to beat/shoot you saying something that might piss them off. If you just decide to start swinging at a cop, expect consequences.....on the same token if a cop oversteps his boundaries there's consequences they need to deal with.
If there's no attacking mods (fine) however there should be a no attacking members if your a mod also. If a mod somehow insults and/or launches an attack at a member on a personal level they should be prepared for what might follow (i.e. a counter attack) and if they feel they've been insulted to the point they don't want to return so be it...their choice. I will suggest though that some caution be excercised by the mods (whoever it may be at any point now or in the future...just generalizing here not pointing fingers). That a mods role (the way I undersatnd it) is to basically keep some order in the forum, and insulting each other due to differing views will not encourage new members, and quite possibly drive people away. Which usually isn't beneficial to the boards, especially when there's valued members involved. Whether it's between 2 members, members and mods, or mods and mods.
My whole point to all of this is I think there should be something that keeps the peace on both sides...which basically is Kid, but just some thoughts on what might need to be implemented when he clarifies the rules. Without something along those lines in place there will probably almost always be a "gray" area that can be played in which can cause valuable members to be driven away for no real reason other than a pissing match.
