Yeah that free card is a puzzling move....I dont really understand why he didnt just bet the Ace he obviously had. The only other thing I would think is that maybe he had like A-2, and made a fullhouse. But then why would he raise Preflop with A-2? I agree with calling the one bet to see the turn.
I dont think I would have folded to a re-raise on the river though. With the made straight I would assume that I had won. It seems to me that most of time I dont see people chase the runner runner club draw.
