You are more likely to get paid off when you hit your set, since people will call to the river and give you 3.5 BB with a LOT of hands... and if there's another player along for the ride, you're pretty much golden.

I run about 20% vpip with 14% pfr... you don't need the high quality hands that you do in NL for the simple reason that limit is about taking down pots. KQ is going to be dominated sometimes... but it's going to win more then it's share, and that's all that matters. In NL the time you lose you lose a lot and you only win a little when it's good, so it's tough to play.

Cap a LOT of hands preflop and on the flop. Because of the nature of low limit games, there is a lot of dead money in the pot and going in with every bet... if you have good equity bet out both to protect it and to get the fish to donate money to the pot. Understand you'll win a lot less pots with your big hands because you can't protect them as much as in NL... but the extra dead money and the elimination of the getting stacked when you get drawn out on makes these hands still be profitable.

3-bet/cap pf with JJ-AA, AK. In situations you can also 3-bet with other pocket pairs or unpaired hands to isolate against a weak raiser (which I never do in NL... I don't attack people with weakness if they show strength, too risky). raise/3-bet the flop with most good top pair hands and better. When the bet size increases on the turn, if they're still raising, tend to believe them... but show strength on the flop to make sure that it's not just them thinking your weak.

Playing like a maniac may feel stupid... but it's a pretty effective tool. Ask the other players on here though... I still mostly play low limits.
