I had an interesting situation last night. I was playing pocket 7s from the BB in a 4 way pot raised to 3BB. Both myself and the player I am against have around 100BB
The flop came down:
First to act I made a pot sized bet and was called by one other player, who I put on possibly slowplaying a flush.
The turn was
Excellent I thought, I now have a full house so decide to check (is this a mistake). My opponent bet out $20 (half pot) and I called.
River was a blank (but higher than 7, say it was a 9) and we are now both left with $60. I have pushed all in and been called by pocket 10's and obviously lost.
Now my question is could I have got away from this hand? At first I thought well if you lose trips vs trips what can you do, however unless I think my opponet is rubbish, he shouldn't be calling my all in on the river with a flush and therefore I was only getting called by something beating me.
Obviously if the flop was
2 6 7 Q K and no flush possible
and I lose to higher trips then I would feel I am correct to push, but I feel this was a mistake on my part - any thoughts?
