PokerStars

Site: http://www.pokerstars.com/?source=PokerForums.org/

PokerStars is hands down the best place to play tournaments. Their software is always being updated and improved (I see about an update every 10 days or so, compared to the updates every 6 months or so from other sites). They have no bugs, and a clean interface.

The difficulty level at PokerStars is quite high. I haven't played at a lot of other sites, but from personal experience and from what I've heard and read, PokerStars may just house the highest competition around. However, people do go on tilt, and on the weekend, PokerStars is a great place to be. For whatever reason, all the fish come on the weekends, and you can make a load of cash during this time. The last two winners of the WSOP have also been PS players, and a lot of fish watching WSOP on TV come to PS to try to do the same.

Overall PS is a very solid place to play at. A lot of friendly people there as well. Highly recommended.

PokerWorld

PokerWorld is very unique in that there are only a handful of players on at any given time! Usually around 10 or so players are in the Hold'Em rooms. At first this may seem horrible and questionable as to the quality of the site - but when you think of how much marketing sites like PokerStars, PartyPoker, and PacificPoker do, it becomes more understandble.

Less players also means you really know these players, and know their style. It also means you know who to stay away from, who is dead money, etc.

My second day on PokerWorld, I entered the $1/$2 table rooms, and made over $500 just playing 1 table. The level here on PokerWorld is unbelievably low. I don't know how to expand on this fact. Basically players play the 3rd and 4th rate hands. If a flop is Q2J rainbow, and your opponant has J9, you can be sure that they will be betting into you. The actually believe that their hand is the best, and will win.

PokerWorld also hosts many freerolls, which are much better than PokerStars' as they pay out better, and a lot less people play in them (hundreds compared to thousands). PokerWorld has a wide selection of tables (.02/.04 all the way up to 4/8), has bonus award points, and great features such as NO RAKE on small pots and small amount of players! I haven't actually seen a rake for about 500 hands.. if you play with 3 people on a $1/$2 NL table, you won't see a rake either.
