Do a search on "Limp and Go", its style that encourages playing alot of hands CHEAPLY early, not playing marginal+ hands to raises. If your going to play this hand, you should rereaise it PF to try and take it now. this way when he pushes, you can cheaply release it.

You played this very weakly, flat calls and min raises, You need to get him to put some serious chips in before you are pot committed (or think you are). Also trying to justify weak play to yourself will only cause you to do it again later.....
