hi

first off, your overbet preflop is what got you in a sticky situation here. i can't see a good arg for raising more than 300-400. now that you have 500 in the middle already along with the blinds, you've put yourself in a tougher spot, whereas 300 you could fold easy.

on the call, it's that old calculation of the range of possible raising hands for villian vs % of those hands you beat vs odds on the call weighed by your chip position.

i think since it's the bubble, your opponent has to be given a little more credit than usual for a hand. s/he has little reason to risk basically busting against you without a strong hand. if we assume the range then [and i think this is generous, btw] of their hands goes from 99-AA + AK - AQ, you dominate once at 4 1/2-1 and are dominated ... eh, i dont' feel like doing the math, but let's say you're roughly even to be against two overs or a bigger pair. somoene else tell me how wrong i am please. brain still slow, coffee on delayed timer i guess.

of course, this is also a good place for your opponent to represent that strength, so that issue comes down to what you know about the player and their capcity for a tricky play.

anyhow, i raise less PF and probably fold here in a SNG. if we're already past the bubble and three handed, i'm probably calling. in a multi on the bubble i'm more tempted to call, but probably fold. in ring, i fold like a shot.

for some reason lately, i cannot type the work more correctly. it keeps coming out mroe.
