He's not sarcastic, he just speaks the truth. When someone is good he tells trhem they are good and when they are rubbish he tells them they're rubbish. So much better then people who say everyone is good until their praise is worthless. If you notice the opinion most contestants really care about is Cowell's and that's becauser they know hes going to be honest.
