in general, I play more like wota suggests, raising by poisiton. However, I think the game conditions and what has happened in front of you make more of a difference.

If no one is folding their blind to 3x raise whats the point unless you have a really good hand??? if you have 2 limper's who'll call a 6x raise why not raise 10x? If you have a calling station who sees every flop for 10bb or less raise it to 10x. if you have AA and everyone is folding to 5x raises but not 3x, and so on.
