IMO this was a good spot to check-raise. The way he'd called me down made me put him on a big spade. If it was the As I'd be raking it in, as my river check would look like a surrender after a missed flush/straight draw. If he had As-rag then he'd certainly bet thinking Aces up was the best hand. If he had shit, then my check after flop/river aggression on a drawy board looks weak and he'd take advantage of that.
