Flush draw vs straight draw
Hi, Ive been playing poker for about 2 years now and have always wondered why flushs were ranked higher than straights.
Flush draw
I mean this is where im coming from lets say i had 2 clubs for my hole cards and the flop comes 2clubs and a blank. That means we only need 1 more card to complete our flush leaving 9 cards left(assuming no1 else is holding one.)
straight draw
You have 4,5 for hole cards. flop comes 3,6,blank. That means we need 1 card to complete our straight leaving 8 cards(assuming no1 else is holding one)
so isnt 9outs better than 8 and better chance of making a flush? Or we factoring the chance of players having clubs in 1/4 into this? But that would mean we hit our flush easier since its 25% of the deck is a club and we have 2 streets to hit it.
Thanks for reading and posting your thoughts
