Successful Vegas Trip - Tourney Reviews
Since my small foray into live poker here in England I wanted to test my skills over in vegas.
I played 7 tournies in all over the week.
4 at Paris $65 freezeout
1 at Treasure Island $60 + $20 add on
2 at Binions $70 + $40 add on
Paris Tournies were swimming with fish and I cashed a 1st (out of 30 players - $560 prize) and a 5th (out of 35 players - $195 prize). I would also have made a cash in another had one of the prevously discussed fish not hit his 1 outer.
Paris has the best waitresses by the way.
Treasure Island appeared to be a slightly better level of player with alot of the room all appearing to recognise each other. I didn't last long in that one so can't really comment any further.
By far the best class of player was found at Binions. They hold 4 tournies a day. There were a few players who lived in Vegas and played there every day. The tourney here has the added bonus that if you win you get entered into their Tournament of Champions (approx $7000 prize fund) on the first sunday of the month to play against all of the other winners of the previous month.
I came second cashing just over $800 (and didn't even need the add on).
First place player couldn't play the entrance to their Tournament of Champions so it was handed to me. Looks like I'm back to Vegas in January.
