Get Pokertracker or PokerOffice. Log 50K-100K hands at NL25. If your BB/100 doesn't look shabby...move up. Otherwise, keep grinding.

Hmmm i have been meaning to. Guess its time. Whats my BB/100?

If he knows how tight you're playing and can flop 2 pair, trips, or a straight, he knows he's stacking you with your QQ+. His implied odds now involve all of your chips. He's playing you, not his cards.

This is all related to implied odds, table image and adjusting play to your opponent right? This what i should be reading up on yeah?

Define big. If I know you're going to get married to your hand and are willing to donk off your entire stack when the flop comes J8x then maybe. Not to say YOU are but you get my point.

5x the BB... you're confirming what Seany says... he might be reading me... Don't think he was that intelligent lol but this clearly needs looking at.
arrgghh.
Just got nailed by k7s with my pocket A's
I raised 3xbb from the small blind pre flop.
BB calls everyone else folds
kh 5c 7s comes out i check hoping he'll bet as igood chance he's got a king but he checks too.
another rag (can't remember but no draws so i check again) on the turn, he checks
Qh on the river.
I bet $4
he raises to $7
I reraise to $23
He calls and wins with two pair
Thats twice in one session.
Now i probably played that wrong post flop but why did he call preflop? Have they got the read on me? Should i have bet more than 3xbb? He'd been playing tight and folding lots so didn't want to scare him off but then he calls with a drawing hand and hits two pair!
What can i do to stop these calls? Or are they really that clever on the 50c's. I believe he called because he had a high card with same suit rag. Or am i being too complacent?
Also, i thought that you should only call a tight player if you have a good hand. That you should only call loose players with drawing hands and if a tight player (like me) raises then you should respect that.
Still say he thought k7s was a good hand lol
