I used to like to raise here with marginal hands, but now i limp... mainly, so that people raise me if they have me beat!
If I raise KJ, the semi-tight player with AJ on the button is going to call, not re-raise. Then I lose a bunch of bets on a J high flop, figuring I have the best kicker since AJ likely raises. So I limp with those hands (when i play them at all
